MCRC Executive Response to LD29 Chair Everett's public comments concerning her recent censure
After receiving well over 100 formal complaints from Republicans across the valley and state, and condemnation from Republicans across the country, regarding the behavior of LD29 Chairman, Lisa Everett, the MCRC EGC’s members were compelled to act.
The MCRC is a private organization, and we not only have the right, but the responsibility to hold our members and their leaders accountable to the organization’s platform. Ms. Everett dishonored the Republican Party Platform in multiple areas and in addition exhibited behaviors unacceptable to Republican standards.
Commitment Three and Four in Chapter Two of our party platform states:
3. Begin Largest Deportation Program in American History
President Trump and Republicans will reverse the Democrats’ destructive Open Borders Policies that have allowed criminal gangs and Illegal Aliens from around the World to roam the United States without consequences. The Republican Party is committed to sending Illegal Aliens back home and removing those who have violated our Laws.
4. Stop Illegal Immigration
Republicans will secure the Border, deport Illegal Aliens, and reverse the Democrats’ Open Borders Policies that have driven up the cost of Housing, Education, and Healthcare for American families.
The preamble states:
Common Sense tells us clearly, in President Trump’s words, that “If we don’t have a Border, we don’t have a Country.” Restoring sensible Border Security and Immigration Policy requires many steps…. ensure that no one can enter our Country who does not have the Legal Right to do so, and we must deport the millions of illegal Migrants who Joe Biden has deliberately encouraged to invade our Country.
Enforcement of law and order when dealing with illegal immigration often raises moral delimas. Every illegal immigrant has a story, a family and a circumstance. That is why the greatest moral delima is at the forefront; balancing humanity for those seeking asylum and the rights of the US Citizen, and this is to be addressed by our immigration courts, NOT by our political party.
Lisa’s decision to join forces with radical leftist organizations like Indivisible who call for protests which malign our President and Congressmen Biggs and Hamadeh violate the Republican Party Platform, and to make matters worse, she did so while distinguishing herself by using her party position and title. That behavior is unacceptable.
Commitment One in Chapter Nine of our party platform states:
1. Republicans Will Stop Woke and Weaponized Government
We will hold accountable those who have misused the power of Government to unjustly prosecute their Political Opponents. We will declassify Government records, root out wrongdoers, and fire corrupt employees.
This is why Lisa Everett’s decision to wage lawfare in our public courts against multiple fellow members of this body, in an effort to silence them and ban them from public forums, based on political disagreements and discord is unacceptable.
This is the Platform of our party, our President and of the American people who voted for our President in 2024.
In addition, every officer of the Republican Party took an oath to “faithfully and impartially discharge all the duties incumbent upon me… according to the best of my ability”. Mistreatment and disregard of the members that Ms. Everett was elected to serve is not ethically sound behavior, nor does it demonstrate the ability to discharge her oath of office impartially. Behavior exhibited towards members of this party and her own LD demonstrate unacceptable ethical challenges.
In addition, following her censure, Ms. Everett has joined the left in calling our diverse, hardworking, and passionate leadership of over 5000 Republican members, radical extremists, racists, and hypocrites. This behavior is yet another example why 23 of the 29 MCRC EGC members voted to censure Ms. Everett and call for her resignation.
A Censure is a well accepted, known and frequently used practice of a formal expression of strong disapproval or condemnation. We proudly stand by our decision to support our President’s immigration policy, defend our members from leftist attacks and unjust lawfair and hold our leadership accountable.
