MCRC EGC ISSUES STATEMENT CONDEMNING TACTICS OF SCHWEIKERT FOR GOVERNOR CAMPAIGN
In their regular meeting held April 7, 2026, the MCRC EGC voted 17-12 in favor of issuing a statement condemning activities and remarks regarding Andy Biggs by the Schweikert for Congress Campaign for AZ Governor. The statement is as follows:
The Executive Board of the Maricopa County Republican Committee strongly condemns mailers and public statements issued by the David Schweikert for Governor campaign against Congressman Andy Biggs.
False and lazy accusations of racism and white supremacy have no place in a Republican primary. These claims represent desperate Democrat-style politics that substitute character smears for honest debate over policy and governance. We are disappointed that a fellow Republican would resort to such tactics rather than engage in the substantive contest of ideas that Republican voters expect and deserve.
To be clear: There is no credible evidence that Congressman Andy Biggs holds racist or white supremacist views. These attacks do nothing to illuminate differences in philosophy or execution.
The real record of racial misconduct belongs to Katie Hobbs whose actions resulted in a jury verdict for $2.75 million for discrimination and retaliation. Hobbs has also been documented hiding in the bathroom from Black journalists.
The Maricopa County Republican Committee calls on all campaigns to immediately return to substantive policy dialogue focused on beating the chaotic Democrats ruining the state.
The Maricopa County Executive Guidance Committee is made up of the 5 members of the Executive Board, 5 elected Members-at-Large, and the 20 GOP Legislative District Chairmen within the county.
